Why Support this EVENT: Because the Cinco de Mayo Organization has supported numerous other organizations in the past and in 2015 CINCO will be donating 50% of the Proceeds to the two most popular organizations in the Fayetteville/Ft. Bragg area. Team Ft. Bragg Chapter of Red White & Blue (RWB) and the Fayetteville Running Club (FRC). Team RWB main mission is to enrich the lives of America's Veterans nation wide by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.
The Fayetteville Running Club is a group for anyone who loves to run or wants to get started. The FRC has been keeping Fayetteville very active since 2008. This Club gets together to train and socialize. These two teams provide 50% volunteers to most of the events in the area and they deserved to be recognized.
Whether you are experienced or a new runner, FRC & RWB will help you reach your running goals and have a lot of fun along the way! Some of the FRC regular events are: Couch 2 5k Training Program, weekly marathon and half marathon training. They also do tremendous local race support. They also have monthly member socials, Speed Drills, Cape Fear River Trail Runs, Neighborhood Runs, and lots of many other fun runs.
Race Description: The 15th Annual John E. Norman Cinco de Mayo 10K & 5K Road Race is bringing you the fastest flat certified USA Track & Field courses in Fayetteville passing through the most famous land marks in Fayetteville such as, the Market House, the Dogwood Trail, Airborne and Special Operations Museum, Freedom Park, Transportation Museum and numerous local churches, all starting and ending at the Medical Arts Center.
Awards: 10K: 1st $500, 2nd $250, 3rd $100. 5K 1st $100, $50, 3RD $50. Medals for all age groups
